Gaming hardware is one of my oldest & favourite interests, I've been quite obsessed with game consoles since rather early in my childhood :P. I think what I find most appealing about them is how specific and unique their experiences are! There's an almost magical feel to it, with games only releasing on specific platforms or having unconventional control schemes imposed by the console they released on. I also quite like their built-in software and the whole process of homebrewing and modifying hardware! Really there's a lot of things that draw me to consoles.
I was always way more of a Sony person and only got into Nintendo stuff relatively recent, but they've since largely taken over as my favourites. I'm yet to add something by Sega or Microsoft to my collection, but I'll get there when I get there (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

This particular PSP was my first game console ever :D I got it for children's day when I was 5 years old and somehow haven't completely broken it since then. But I did snap off parts of the UMD drive by accident. Happens! It's also got a damaged screen but overall it's still kicking. I don't use it much at all but I take it out sometimes to mess around with :P

This PS3 was my first home console, first "major" purchase with my own money (though it really didn't cost much at all), first homebrewing & emulation experience and the first console I broke. Lotta firsts. I've used it A LOT over the years and played LittleBigPlanet, Assassins Creed II, GTA 4 and Minecraft in the high hundreds of hours. Sadly due to age it started seriously overheating and my repair attempt (delid) rendered it significantly worse and it doesn't turn on for more than a few seconds anymore. I don't think it's completely toast but it definitely is right now.

I got this PS2 sometime in 2019 for a REALLY good deal around the time I first started developing more of an interest in gaming hardware. It was always a bit janky and I didn't really use it much at first but it definitely grew on me over time. I don't use this unit anymore because the disc drive in it died but it's fully functional otherwise!

Got it in 2020 as my first "proper" gaming thing that could actually run new(ish) games, especially since my laptop at the time was abysmal :p I've largely set it aside since getting a proper PC but it still gets pretty used. Probably the least interesting of all my consoles though!

My first Nintendo console! I bought it at CeX in 2023 and fell in love with it pretty quick. It's also a pretty major inspiration for this whole website. My particular unit is currently very sticker bombed (I made the animated gif earlier, though). My favourite and probably most played game on it is Mario Kart Wii. Big fan of that one.

On the high the Wii provided me with I found myself captivated by the Wii U's underdog backstory and decided I can not rest until I buy one. Not my wisest decision but I try to love all my children equally. Can't say it doesn't have any good games though! I've definitely had some fun hours with it :P

Got this thing as a loose unit for dirt cheap so that I could have a PS2 with a working DVD drive, but it became the only one I use for convenience's sake. 90% of my time spent playing the PS2 was probably on this thing though LOL. I've got a bunch of accessories for it like a wireless controller adapter and MX4SIO card reader to make it easier to use.

Gotten alongside the PS2 slim above with the intent of replacing my (at the time still working, but already dying) Fat PS3. Which it did. Had a load of bundled games and it's definitely gotten me playing PS3 games more again as im not deadly afraid of it randomly dying while being used anymore :P

I always found myself a bit captivated with the DS line of consoles, only exacerbated by getting a Wii (U) and seeing my cousin's DS Lite. Eventually decided on it and ordered one from Japan. Can't say I regret it! Might be my favourite of all consoles and I take it places a lot. So many good games. You might recognise the picture from Wikipedia. That's my 2DS!

Most recent console of mine so I don't have that much to say about it :P Got it on a bit of a whim because I found the (Japan-exclusive!) colour amazing (IT'S GREEN.) and it was a pretty OK local deal. I've been mostly playing Mario Kart DS on it, still getting around to other stuff "=c=

Not sure of the exact circumstances I got this thing except the fact it was probably from my grandma? I used it quite a lot when visiting her, the games are surprisingly good sports-themed adaptations of NES stuff. It worked last time I turned it on but that was a while ago now.
